Ida Holliday, PhD, RN

Dr. Ida Holliday, PhD, RN is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Nursing with more than 20 years of clinical nursing experience and 13 years in nursing education. Her clinical background includes emergency, medical-surgical, and critical care nursing, and she is passionate about promoting mental health awareness and providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Dr. Holliday earned her PhD in Healthcare Administration and Education from William Carey University in 2022 as one of seven graduates in the inaugural doctoral cohort. Her dissertation, The Occurrence and Effects of Secondary Traumatic Stress in a Group of Emergency Department Nurses, reflects her commitment to improving the well-being of nurses and advancing healthcare practice.

As an educator, Dr. Holliday is dedicated to preparing future nurses with excellence, compassion, and respect for the dignity of every individual. She strives to create a learning environment where every student feels a sense of belonging, believing that meaningful change in healthcare begins in the classroom. Her long-term goal is to make healthcare more accessible while inspiring nurses to lead with knowledge, empathy, and integrity.

Her favorite scripture, Matthew 6:34, serves as a daily reminder: "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
